Supergirl may be on hiatus for a few weeks (along with the rest of the Arrowverse), but fans are already looking forward to the show’s return at the end of the month – and a guest star from another CW series. The series returns on April 24 with ‘Ace Reporter’, which features an appearance from iZombie’s Rahul Kohli.
The trailer for ‘Ace Reporter’ already revealed Kohli’s character, but only gave viewers a few glimpses of what’s to come. The trailer shows Kara (Melissa Benoist), her ex-boss Snapper (Ian Gomez), and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) as well as Kohli as Jack Spheer, and includes a line from Kohli’s character: “Are you trying to get me in your crosshairs, Miss Danvers?” Now, with the release of the episode synopsis, we know a little bit more about why Kara wants to take aim at Jack.
The synopsis, released today by The CW, expands on the trailer and why Spheer is in town for this episode:
The appearance of Spheer has sparked speculation about his possible evolution into the comic book villain Biomax, but there is nothing in the synopsis that suggests that Biomax is going to make an appearance this episode. However, as Biomax’s power is mind-control, this may well still come into play.
“IZOMBIE’S” RAHUL KOHLI GUEST STARS – Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish (#218). Original airdate 4/24/2017.
The episode is also going to see Kara’s return to the world of reporting, and this could potentially be a lead-in to her return to work for Snapper. It’s possible that she could impress him enough to offer her a job again, or that she may even save his life. Since she lost her job for posting unsubstantiated claims on a blog when she was told not to cover them, Kara has been missing her work outside the DEO, and it’s likely that she will return to reporting in some form very soon.
