Jailbreak tweak developer Filippo Bigarella released his newest piece of iPhone-modding software, called “LivelyIcons”, today. The tweak itself is simple: it adds fun animations to your iPhone’s homescreen icons when you open an application. You can find a video of it in action right here. The animations aren’t the only reason to buy it, though.
Biga has also announced via a blog post that he will donate the proceeds from this tweak to two foundations that focus on funding research to fight pediatric cancer. On his blog, Biga wrote:
The tweak costs $1.99, but Biga is left with $1 after taxes and PayPal fees. He will then donate it to two pediatric cancer foundations. From his blog post:
However, what I will be telling you in this post is not strictly related to the features of the tweak, nor I will speak about any technical detail: what I want to tell you today is how you can help other people by purchasing LivelyIcons.
In fact, I had a plan for this tweak right from the beginning: gather funding for research, in particular pediatric cancer research.
Research is important, but many people tend not to realize it until they are directly involved in such things.
The tweak is now available on Cydia. It works on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It requires iOS 6.
• Who will you be donating to?
I will donate to 2 different foundations, both focused on pediatric cancer research:
- Città della Speranza, an italian association based in Padova.
- Because of Ezra, a non profit pediatric cancer research foundation run by Kyle and Robyn Matthews
