James Bond 25 gets the official title of No Time To Die as the full cast for the movie is confirmed and an official plot synopsis is released. The film will see Daniel Craig return as James Bond. The upcoming 25th installment in the long-running franchise is already filming ahead of Bond 25’s April 2020 release date.
Craig signed on to play Bond for 2006’s Casino Royale, and has starred in some well-received entries in the franchise, particularly 2012’s Skyfall. It was believed, for a time, that Craig would end his run as 007 with 2015’s Spectre, but then he signed on to return for one more movie, with Bond 25 marking his fifth appearance as the super spy. However, though Bond 25 started filming earlier this year and received a 2020 release date, it wasn’t clear what the title of the movie would be - until now.
The official James Bond Twitter revealed Bond 25 will be titled No Time To Die with a brief video teaser featuring Craig suited up as the agent, and reconfirmed the UK and US release dates of the film. The title isn’t too far off from the one that was previously reported to have been scrapped: A Reason to Die. Check out the announcement below.
After Danny Boyle departed the project, No Time To Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, from a script by Skyfall and Spectre writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, as well as Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag). In addition to Craig, No Time To Die stars Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Billy Magnussen, Rory Kinnear, Ralph Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah. Further, the studio revealed an official plot synopsis for No Time To Die, which can be viewed below:
The No Time To Die title calls back to older James Bond movie titles, from before Craig’s turn as 007, like 1973’s Live and Let Die, 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies and even 2002’s Die Another Day. Of course, whether No Time To Die is as well received as Craig’s previous Bond movies, like Skyfall, remains to be seen. As the 25th entry in the film franchise, it marks a major milestone for James Bond in Hollywood and the creatives behind No Time To Die are no doubt striving to make it memorable. Hopefully all their hard work pays off and Craig ends his run as James Bond is style. Fans of the James Bond franchise will get to see what’s in store from No Time To Die when it hits theaters next spring.
In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
