2017 is poised to be a thrilling year for for geek audiences in the theater, and there are a lot of promising movies to look forward to. Two of the most highly anticipated are Logan and Justice League, coming in at number 5 and 3 respecively on Screen Rant’s list of most anticipated 2017 movies. Despite the hype, neither film has much marketing exposure yet. Justice League released special footage at Comic-Con (before filming was even complete), and Logan only has a single trailer out.

The absence of marketing for Justice League is understandable since it doesn’t hit theaters until mid November, but Logan is less than 2 months away and fans are hungry for more footage. While the style of these films will be drastically different, both movies promise to compensate for disappointing outings in the past, with Justice League working to lighten the tone from previous DCEU installments and Logan looking to tell a more intimate Logan story without a butchered Deadpool or giant CGI samurai like his previous solo outings.

James Mangold and Hugh Jackman have been teasing an upcoming trailer for Logan as part of their 1974 Frames for Logan campaign in which fans can win a postcard with one of the 1,974 frames from the unreleased second trailer, culminating in a proper trailer release. Always hungry for more, fans have taken to Twitter to beg for a full trailer release. One particular fan is hoping for Zack Snyder and/or James Mangold to fulfill his birthday wish for a trailer:

-

Tomorrow is my birthday… @mang0ld or @ZackSnyder could one of y’all give me a nice present? (a trailer) pic.twitter.com/34N5rP1BKc— SuperBroMovies (@SuperBroMovies) January 13, 2017

There’s a lot of people on Twitter, and quite a few of them are regularly tweeting Snyder and Mangold to beg for a trailer release, so this might normally seem like a shout into the void - except James Mangold acknowledged this particular request with a response of his own:

@SuperBroMovies @ZackSnyder Zack? Can you help this guy out? I can’t.— Mangold (@mang0ld) January 13, 2017

In a world that seems consumed by Marvel vs DC debates, there are few things that would excite fans more than for Zack Snyder to respond with a trailer tease. A full trailer is unlikely, as it sounds like DC is holding off to start Justice League promotion for the sprint. However, Snyder has been known to release promotional images through his Twitter account from time to time (usually without warning), so a response isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

Even though James Mangold is denying this particular birthday wish, the second Logan trailer is still expected to arrive before the end of the month. With Wonder Woman arriving in theaters in just a few months, there will be a lot of promotional material for fans of both properties to chew on in the coming weeks.
