MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has relit the flame that sparked back in December of 2009. The original series ended three years later in December of 2012, but fans got their wish when the self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes made a comeback in 2018. With the third season over, we wanted to celebrate the most dramatic breakdowns, fallouts, and comebacks on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

This season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation definitely had a lot going on. Angelina Pivarnick reclaimed her place within the family, Pauly DelVecchio remained the prank war champion, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and her partner-in-crime Deena Cortese both welcomed little boys into the world. While these stories were certainly fun to watch, they weren’t what captivated audiences. Instead, our attention was focused on Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

Most Dramatic Breakdown

It’s no secret that Ortiz-Magro has had an on-again/off-again relationship with ex-girlfriend Jen Harley. The two started dating back in 2017, and unfortunately, this started a cycle of abusive behavior as well. The couple welcomed their daughter Arianna in April of 2018, which helped their relationship initially. As we saw in many episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Ortiz-Magro’s relationship with Harley was often a rollercoaster.

Season 3 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation showcased Ortiz-Magro’s crumbling relationship, and ultimately his personal breakdown. Fans watched Ortiz-Magro battle through countless text arguments with Harley and awkward interactions with his roommates wherein he kept secrets as to what was really going on. Eventually, enough was enough. In early 2019, Ortiz-Magro checked himself into rehab so that he could better himself, and ultimately the life he gave his daughter. Today, he appears to continue on the sobriety path, participating in the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation antics without the alcohol. Despite having the most dramatic breakdown of season 3, fans are happy to see that Ortiz-Magro is on to bigger and better things.

Most Dramatic Fallout

To be honest, fans watched Farley go through more than one fallout during season 3 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. For starters, her divorce from Roger Mathews became public knowledge, both through the show and his very personal Instagram posts. It’s evident that Farley’s divorce has been messy, but it wasn’t the only one fans got to witness during season 3.

Farley and Pivarnick have never been the closest of friends. Pivarnick disappeared from the series twice, despite being given a second chance when they were filming in Miami. As they say, the third time is the charm, which was certainly the case for Pivarnick’s role on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Despite being welcomed back by a majority of the family, Pivarnick and Farley still held some grudges toward one another.

During the family’s time in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, fans witnessed an all-out screaming match between Farley and Pivarnick. After a hazy trip to Las Vegas, Farley had trouble remembering what happened between her boyfriend at the time, Zach Carpinello, and Pivarnick. Naturally, the classic case of he-said/she-said turned into an argument over dinner, which resulted in Polizzi leaving and nearly smashing bottles to use as weapons.

Most Dramatic Comeback

Despite his lacking presence on this season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, we would be remiss without mentioning the comeback Sorrentino has made. At the end of season 2, fans saw Sorrentino receive his sentence for his tax evasion crimes. While he was away for a majority of season 3, that doesn’t mean fans aren’t celebrating the man Sorrentino has become.

When Jersey Shore first came to be, Sorrentino was an Ortiz-Magro-hating, six-pack flashing, self-proclaimed guido from Staten Island. Today, he’s clean and sober, married to the love of his life, Lauren Pesce, and devoting his time to helping other addicts work through their recovery. Sorrentino’s prison sentence concluded in September 2019 and fans are looking forward to his return on the next season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will return in 2020.
