Jersey Shore’s Ronnie is facing false imprisonment charges from Jen Harley’s fight. The hot-headed reality star thought he was in the clear, but hey may need to worry about extra charges that were filed recently against him.
On October 4, Ortiz-Magro and Harley were embroiled in a physical altercation that led to the reality star being tased while staying in an AirBnB in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department promptly issued an emergency protective order against Ortiz-Magro - which was effective until October 11 - following his arrest for the domestic violence incident against Harley. The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star had to stay at least 100 yards away from his girlfriend as he was accused of attacking her. Harley could have extended the order of protection, but did not return to court on her specific date, so the protective order was lifted.
According to People, Ortiz-Magro was actually charged with seven charges, not five, by the Los Angeles City Attorney, as previously reported for the fight between him and his ex-girlfriend. The Jersey Shore star faces a charge of willingly and unlawfully depriving Harley of her personal liberty. The charges also included two charges of resisting arrest for each officer. If the reality star is convicted, he will face up to one year in jail for each one of the charges.
It was confirmed last week that the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star would not be facing any of the charges following his arrest at the beginning of October. He was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and kidnapping. But the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office had officially deferred the MTV personality’s case to the City Attorney. The city released a statement saying that the City Attorney’s Office had no plans to review Ortiz-Magro’s case in the future. In a statement of their own, the reality star’s camp said that the arrest of Ortiz-Magro had been misrepresented, and they had every confidence that the District Attorney would dismiss the charges and are concentrating on working with the City Attorney.
While the two have had an on-again/off-again relationship, it was confirmed in an October 19 post by Ortiz-Magro that he had decided to leave his toxic relationship with Harley behind once and for all. In his Instagram story, he posted a cryptic message that spoke about outgrowing people in your life. Ortiz-Magro also wrote that he learned that it was OK to chose himself and his daughter, and that walking away is a positive step toward his future. Fans are optimistic that everything will start looking up for the beloved reality star, and, hopefully, this time he will stay away from Harley.
