Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’s Ronnie Ortiz-Magro took his daughter Ariana to Disneyland just days after his arrest. Although Ortiz-Magro spent a few hours in Van Nuys Jail in Los Angeles barely a week before the theme park visit, his social media posts showed a day full of fun and happiness. The trip took place just hours after a protective order against on-again, off-again girlfriend Jen Harley was lifted.
Ortiz-Magro’s tumultuous relationship with Harley has been well-documented on social media and in the news. Their hostile disputes reached their peak on October 4, when Ortiz-Magro was tased and arrested by Los Angeles police. In the early morning hours, Harley called officers to an LA Airbnb where she was staying with Ortiz-Magro and their 18-month-old daughter. Ortiz-Magro allegedly struck Harley and chased her with a knife when a dispute got out of hand. He refused to comply with officers when they arrived, forcing LAPD to tase him. Ariana wasn’t hurt during the conflict, but Ortiz-Magro was arrested for kidnapping and taken to jail, where he was released on bail a few hours later. Although Ortiz-Magro was on the streets once again, he was issued an emergency protective order that forced him to stay to stay 100 yards away from Harley until a court hearing on October 11.
When Harley didn’t appear on the day of the court hearing, the protective order against Ortiz-Magro was lifted. According to Us Weekly, he celebrated by taking Ariana to Disneyland. On Saturday October 12, the reality star posted a video on his Instagram story that showed him and Ariana goofing around on a Disneyland ride. They stuck out their tongues at the camera, and Ortiz-Magro kissed his daughter’s cheek. It was a happy moment in an otherwise difficult week for both of Ariana’s parents.
Harley and Ortiz-Magro have been dating since 2017. Although their relationship was always plagued by drama, they were happily together at the launch party for Ortiz-Magro’s Verge CBD line in West Hollywood just hours before the arrest. “Honestly, even though everyone thinks we’re toxic, she really does balance me out,” Ortiz-Magro said of Harley. This final fight, however, is supposedly the last straw for their relationship. Now, Ortiz-Magro is focused on his daughter.
Throughout his disastrous relationship with Harley, Ortiz-Magro has always affirmed that Ariana is his first priority. However, the heated relationship between her parents can’t be good for the little girl. While Ortiz-Magro is desperate to take care of his family unit, separating from Harley for good is likely the best thing for his daughter. However, those following their relationship can’t be sure that this is the last straw for the unhappy couple. They’ve reunited after many an altercation in the past - this may just be the latest in a long stream of Ronnie/Jen drama.
