Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s wife Lauren suffered a miscarriage. Lauren and Jersey Shore’s Mike are trying to deal with their tragedy by staying positive and choosing to help others going through the same process.
Back in 2014, the Sorrentino brothers were first indicted after their failure to pay taxes on 8.9 million dollars of income between the years of 2010 and 2012. In April of 2017, the Sorrentino brothers were additionally charged by the Department of Justice, and both brothers plead guilty and could have faced a maximum of 5 years behind bars. The Situation was required to pay $123,913 in restitution and a fine for $10,000, which he did before starting his jail sentence, and he had been locked away in the federal prison since January of 2019. The reality star was released back in September and has been trying to live his best life since.
Since leaving prison, The Situation had been enjoying times with friends and family. But recently, while on Strahan, Sara & Keke (via Us Weekly) reported that the reality star and his wife Lauren opened up about recently suffering a miscarriage. Lauren was only seven weeks into her first pregnancy when she was told she had lost the baby. She told the morning show hosts that the night her husband came home from jail was when they conceived. The first-time parents said that the whole process had been heart-wrenching as the two were elated to discover that they had gotten pregnant so quickly.
Lauren said that once she found out she was pregnant, she started to feel that all the couple had gone through - including the long trial and jail time - was behind them, and it was their turn to enjoy a positive turn in life. The Situation and his wife decided to share their heartache with their fans because Lauren did not want to hold on to the pain that surrounds a miscarriage. She told the hosts that she wanted to share her experience with others who are going through the same struggle, to help with healing.
The two reality stars had been dating on and off throughout the years, both while Mike had filmed Jersey Shore, but originally met back in College. The college sweethearts married in November 2018, two months before Mike reported to jail to start his prison sentence. Mike had been very vocal about wanting to start a family once he was released from prison. Fans were saddened to hear of the couple’s news and wish them peace while they heal during this difficult time.
