Bachelor in Paradises’ John Paul Jones is moving to Los Angeles to be close to his girlfriend Tayshia Adams and to pursue a new career in acting. The finance analyst is changing his career path and will be close to Adams by moving from Maryland to California.
After turning into a social media sensation during Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, Jones immediately cast on season six of Bachelor in Paradise. He began as this easy-going, likable contestant who soon linked up with Adams and it began one of the most unlikely match-ups on the show. Though Adams enjoyed her time with Jones, she was skeptical about how realistic it was that the relationship would work outside of paradise and let Jones date other women. That’s when Jones found himself in a love triangle with two new girls and fans accused him of using the other women and leading them on. Of course, no one could have known the most playful character would turn so violent when he had a fistfight with Derek Peth at Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone’s wedding. Adams broke up with him and sent him packing and the 24-year-old told Adams he loved her. Regardless, the two departed in two separate limos following an awkward goodbye.
It seemed like there was no hope for this couple, but after Adams tracked down Jones in Maryland just ahead of the finale special, the two have since been inseparable. The only thing that is keeping these love birds apart now is the distance. As Jones is currently living in Maryland and Adams is on the other side of the country in California. Jones spoke to Us Weekly about his career change and his big move to be closer to his girlfriend. He said, “A few opportunities came up that were really just too hard to pass up and it just made sense to move.” He explained that “Tayshia is only an hour and a half away so that was a big draw.” On top of that, “a talent agent reached out to me and they’ve been consistently getting me auditions and I’m waiting to hear back [on projects].”
He explained how he would have never imagined all of these events to happen to him, but right now, he’s just going with the flow. He said, “I’ll never be able to do this again so it just seemed like the right move.” He already has driven himself and all his belongings across the country, alongside his brother, and is settling into life in California. He said he’s most excited about not being so long-distance with Adams anymore, saying, “I’m excited to consistently see my girlfriend who I’ve been dating from across the country, so that will eliminate a lot of loneliness that I experienced [living in] Maryland, working in my career as a finance analyst.” He continued, “Tayshia is definitely excited. It reduces a lot of the hassle that came with buying a plane ticket and visiting her for a weekend. It was really difficult [being long-distance].” Jones explained that he would often fly out to see Adams on the weekend and most of the time would be spent traveling. He explained that he feels like the move is “killing two birds with one stone.”
Jones expressed that what he’s looking forward to the most in California is the normalcy that he will be able to have with Adams, saying that he really has never got the chance to have a normal relationship outside of paradise. Since Jones swore he would never be on reality TV again, there’s hope for fans that he might be appearing on TV and film as an actor. He’s definitely gone a long way since Bachelor in Paradise.
