Qualcomm last month officially filed a patent infringement suit against Apple, seeking an import ban on select iPhone models. Now, the chipmaker has announced that the International Trade Commission has commenced an investigation into Apple based on its complaint… Qualcomm says that the investigation will examine whether Apple has engaged in “unfair trade practices by importing and selling certain mobile electronic devices,” specifically related to six of its patents. Just as it announced last month, Qualcomm is asking the ITC to implement a “Limited Exclusion Order” that would block imports of iPhones and iPads that unlawfully use modems covered by one of the six patents....

Power is releasing its first study of customer satisfaction among streaming music services today and in it ranks Apple Music above the competition. Apple comes out on top because 35% of Apple Music subscribers in the study say they are strongly committed to the streaming service. Japan’s largest mobile carrier, DoCoMo, will finally begin selling the iPhone this fall, according to Nikkei. We were skeptical yesterday about the apparent rollout of iTunes Match internationally, and now it looks like our suspicions are being confirmed with GigaOM and others reporting that users across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada (everywhere except the U.S. and Brazil) are being told by Apple that the service “will not function”. As you can see from the email posted by a Twitter user who contacted iTunes support, refunds are being issued within 5-7 days, and many other Twitter users are reporting the same (here and here)....

There’s been a lot of pent up anticipation for the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak, and Pangu, the Chinese security researchers behind the latest tool, have answered the call. Unfortunately, it appears that some jailbreakers have had various accounts compromised after jailbreaking, and several users on the popular subreddit r/jailbreak have corroborated these claims. To be fair, it’s possible that these reported breaches are just a big coincidence, or that a compromise occurred after the tool left Pangu’s hands for distribution....
